Yerranderie Adventure Ride - Update #2 26 October

Update #2 - 26 October

The intel I am getting regrding Goodmans Ford is that it will be passable this Saturday.  So, as noted below the ride will commence from Mittagong McDonalds on Saturday with stands up sharp at 10:30am.  Make sure your bike is FULL before leaving Maccas.

With regards to the return trip on Sunday, both the route through Jenolan Caves and the Kowmung River trail are both closed.  So we will ride out to Oberon for a coffee where the ride will finish.

Update #1 - 3 October

This is ride suitable for adventure bikes with a fuel range of at least 300km - Mittagong to Yerranderie and back to Oberon is 280km.  We will meet at Mittagong McDonalds and it will be stands up no later than 10:30am.  The later start for this ride is because we only have 150k'm to get to Yerranderie via Goodmans Ford but we want to leave some time to set up camp and explore Yerranderie.

This is a camping ride so you will need to be self sufficient for food and water.  Note that Yerranderie has two camping options.  Private Town and Government Town which both REQUIRE YOU TO BOOK ON THE NPWS WEBSITE.  Private town is a bit more expensive but includes hot showers, toilets and firewood.  Private Town is the preferred option - I recommend you book there - but don't delay.  It's also cheaper to book for two and split the cost. 

The return trip will be either directly back to Oberon for fuel (105km) or via Dingo Dell (128km) and then to Oberon.  We cannot go through Jenolan Caves as the road is closed.

Wet weather - a close eye will be kept on the weather.  If Goodman's Ford is above flood level, the trip will be rerouted to go to and from Oberon.
